Turns Out There’s A Lot To Like About The Audi RS Q3 Sportback

The all-new Audi RS Q3 comes in two shapes: regular and Sportback. Think of it as the same premium subcompact SUV, in the vein of the Mercedes GLA and GLB where one of them looks sportier but the other is more practical.

If you’re into high-riding vehicles with a sloping roofline that have enough power to inject you with a large dose of adrenaline, then the RS Q3 Sportback might be the one for you.

It looks modern on the outside, expensive in the cabin, can sit two adults in comfort on the back seat and has 480 liters (17 cu-ft) of boot space for a quick weekend getaway.

As for the performance part, the 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine develops 395 HP (400 PS) and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque, which is more than enough for a compact SUV. However, the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is sometimes slow to respond, according to Rory Reid’s review.

Power is directed to the quattro all-wheel drive system that will encourage you to attack corners at medium-to-high speeds. Mind you, the steering is not that engaging and understeer is very much present. The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration takes 4.5 seconds and the RS Q3 Sportback will do 155 mph (250 km/h) flat out. You could opt for the option to remove the speed limiter to enjoy 174 mph (280 km/h), though.

So far, it seems that there are only very few letdowns with Audi‘s RS Q3 Sportback, and all of them are detailed in the following video review. Hit play to find out what else Rory Reid had to say about it and, more importantly, if he’d buy one.
